GARDENS AND FLOWERS OF ISTANBUL

In the longest tunnel of (120 metres long) which leads from Ertugral Island there is an exhibition of Flowers and Gardens in Istanbul which shows the history of plants and the many ways in which they were used in Turkey over the centuries. A catalogue of these posters is available to purchase as a book from the Garden administration for 50TL.

Plant Diversity Posters

Nezahat Gokyigit Botanic Garden translated the set of posters on plant diversity originally published by Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. The poster set is titled, "The Focus: Plant Diversity". The boxed set includes 20 posters and a teacher booklet. Within the sphere of botanic science, there are four sets of five posters with the following titles: "Plant Groups", "Plant Sections", “The Germination of Plants" and " Biodiversity Close-up". The booklet included in the set gives information about the functions of posters and explanations in context. It is an important educational guide for teachers.

Bitkileri Taniyalim (Let's Learn about Plants)

This booklet was prepared for primary school children as an educational book and a teacher's guide is also available. The book was written following a "Botanic Garden Educational Project" funded by the Christensen Fund and the ANG Foundation. It covers "the world of plants", "plant diversity", “plants in nature and their importance".
