Garden Regulations

We would like you to make the most of your visit but please note the following:

  • You can walk freely on the grass and sit on it, but please do not cover the ground with items such as rugs and do not hang your belongings on the trees.
  • From the interpretative labels you can learn about the plants which interest you.
  • Except for guide dogs, dogs and other animals and birds are not allowed into the Garden.
  • Parents are responsible for the safety of their children and are held responsible for any damage they may cause to the Garden. Please supervise your children at all times.
  • Please do not damage, pick or remove any plants, flowers or trees in the Botanic Garden and do not take any cuttings or seeds. Leave them for everybody to enjoy.
  • Walk on the paths or grass, but not on the soil and flower beds.
  • Please do not enter restricted or fenced areas and do not enter the private working areas without permission.
  • Please do not feed the chickens, ducks, geese or any other garden animals or birds.
  • Picnicing is only allowed on the Picnic Island
  • Please help to keep the Botanic Garden clean and take your rubbish home with you when you leave.
  • Please refrain from playing ball, playing in the water cascades, ponds, or water features..
  • Do not play loud music that may disturb other visitors and do not light fires or use picnic gas burners.
  • Please be careful during entry to and exit from the Garden by car and do not park outside the entrance.
